What Is Parvo?
Parvo, or Canine Parvovirus, is a viral disease that attacks the lining of the intestinal tract and immune system of dogs, and especially puppies, who are more prone to this virus than adult dogs.
The Parvovirus can cause vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, depression, dehydration, high fever and sudden death.
Parvo is often fatal and strikes suddenly, causing your pet to become extremely ill. Without treatment the animal often dies within a few days.
Dehydration is the number one cause of death with the Parvovirus, which is caused by the frequent diarrhea and vomiting that leads to extreme shock.
They can also pass away from loss of blood, major organ failure, infection (caused by the intestinal barrier being broken down, allowing harmful bacteria to invade the entire body) and low blood sugar.
To learn more about Parvo, and what you can do to help your doggies survive it, please download our FREE book, Parvo Treatment 101.
Parvo Vaccines
We do NOT recommend vaccinations, and especially not if your dog has Parvo, or has been exposed to the virus recently.
To see why we say this, which we know goes against so-called accepted wisdom, please read a post we made on one of our blogs recently.
